Fort Myers fishing charters for snook in January is living up to its typical toughness. However yesterday we defied the odds. After a massive wind storm and cold front blew through Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We caught beautiful shinners very quickly first thing in the morning. After bait catching we took off in search of snook in Fort Myers’s very own Caloosahatchee River.
Paul and I had a surprisingly great day despite awful conditions the previous 3 days. We got back into a a few creeks to start off the morning with a dozen or so little fellas. Once we had enough of the little guys we searched big ones. It was tough, we saw a few real nice ones scattered along the mangrove shorelines but no bites. About mid day we got a nice 32 incher and some great jack crevalles. Patients and perseverance pays.
