2017 is here! What better way to bring in the new year than on a fishing charter here in Fort Myers with Caloosahatchee Cowboy Charters. Pre frontal bites were best last week with a good amount of redfish, small snook, and tons of jack on the 4 hour inshore fishing trips. Our biggest redfish was 30 inches. Most of the snook and jack have been 4-10 pounds. This time of year can be tough especially if you are trying to book a trip within a couple days after a big cold front. The colder air drops the water temps making the fish less excited to eat your bait. However we are coming into prime sheepshead and snapper fishing on our close nearshore rubble piles. Last winter was epic out there for sheep head. This cold snap should get them going. They are very tasty and tons of fun on light tackle.
