Dreams do come true! Myself, partnered with two of the most revered tournament anglers in our area along with a dear friend and stellar angler himself brought home first place in the Ding Darling Doc Fords 7th Annual Tarpon tournament, held out of Doc Fords on Fort Myers Beach.

This tournament attracts the best Captains and anglers from Marco island to Tampa in a battle to see who can release the most tarpon from 6:45am-4:00pm. We took home the big check with releasing 6 fish total in a nail biting event where the next 4 finishers all had 4 fish. What a day! A grand  total of 51 Fish were released throughout the whole day. Which shattered records for the most fish caught in the tournaments short history. Also shattering records the tournament raised $120,000 for the Ding Darling Wild Life sanctuary on Sanibel Island.

I am very honored and proud to have won such an amazing event. Can’t wait for next year.

In the mean time tarpon fishing Fort Myers has been great this year. We haven’t been catching tons of them but it has been consistent with an average of 1-6 opportunities a day on a half day tarpon charter. Which is pretty awesome!

We are in the middle of season now and have plenty more time to make tarpon dreams come true. We are on a full moon now which yields killer tides and typically awesome bites! Stay tuned to see what happens after the next couple of days
