It has been a December to remember so far this month. Nearshore fishing charters in the Gulf of Mexico have been outstanding. Giant amber jack have been all fired up crushing top water plugs and live shinners on the nearshore wrecks, off the coast of Ft Myers Beach. We have been hand feeding and catching these fish in about 50 foot of water. However that’s not the only action on recent Fort Myers fishing charters. The king fish has bite has been pretty steady as well with fish in 10-30 pound class. Triple tail have been loaded on the stone crab traps off of Sanibel. Nice mangrove snapper and the occasional flag yellowtail aren’t uncommon either.
