The third week of May produced no tarpon due to the hurricane force winds! Fort Myers and Cape Coral experienced a cold front, bringing huge winds out of the north late last week. That did not stop Caloosahatchee Cowboy Charters from fishing and producing a solid snook bite on light tackle. Throughout the course of last week my new friend Bruce managed to get a 40 incher to eat his bait, a real trophy, welcome to the elite club Bruce. A 40 inch snook is the pinnacle of snook fishing, equivalent to a 12 point buck. With that being the catch of the week. My other guests all reeled in a combined 25 snook in the 30-36 inch range, which is incredible considering what has happened to my beloved snook four years ago. It truly was an awesome week despite the wind. Be sure to stay tuned for the winds are finally going to lay down. Which means tarpon will be put in the air! Woooweeee I cant wait!
