The third week of May produced no tarpon due to the hurricane-force winds! Fort Myers and Cape Coral experienced a cold front, bringing massive winds out of the north late last week. That did not stop Caloosahatchee Cowboy Charters from fishing and producing a solid snook bite on light tackle. Last week, my new friend Bruce got a 40-inch to eat his bait, a real trophy; welcome to the elite club Bruce. A 40-inch snook is the pinnacle of snook fishing, equivalent to a 12-point buck, with that being the week’s catch. My other guests all reeled in a combined 25 snook in the 30-36 inch range, which is incredible considering what happened to my beloved snook four years ago. It indeed was a great week despite the wind. Be sure to stay tuned for the winds are finally going to lay down. Book your Snook Fishing Charter here in Caloosahatchee Cowboy Charters and maybe you are the chosen one to go fishing with Captain josh. This means tarpon will be put in the air! Woooweeee, I can’t wait!
